To create my laminations, I begin by gluing and pressing together 5-10 sheets of paper recycled from my printmaking practice. By layering a delicate material, I create a hearty surface which I manipulate heavily, degrading it in some areas and building it up in others. The subtractive techniques used include sanding, cutting, and tearing, while additive processes include collage, painting, and drawing. I relate this material accumulation and degradation to short-term and long-term changes that I observe within the landscape.
